Winnipeg, MB (TM) – Tennis Manitoba announced today that Rick Bochinski, Executive Director of Tennis Manitoba, has resigned his position after serving for ten years at the helm of Manitoba’s provincial tennis association.

“I’m certainly going to miss working with everyone in the tennis community,” Bochinski said. “I’m proud of everything that we’ve been able to accomplish to grow the sport of tennis in the province from schools programs to community clubs and on through to the highest level of amateur competition. It has been a great ten years for me and I leave with many fond memories.”

Tennis Manitoba President, Jim Millican, thanked Bochinski for his dedication to the sport of tennis in Manitoba.

“We’re very sorry to see Rick leave the tennis community,” Millican said. “Rick’s time and talent and enthusiasm for all aspects of handling both the business and the athletic side of his position leave our sport in excellent shape to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future growth of the game in Manitoba.”

Bochinski will remain in his position until December 4, 2009. The Tennis Manitoba Board of Directors is in the process of launching a search for a new Executive Director both inside and outside the world of tennis and intends to appoint a successor as soon as possible.
