Aspiring Young Players Identified at Tennis Camp

Tennis Manitoba

    Wed Jan 28'09

Winnipeg, MB (TM) – A total of 29 kids in the U8 – U12 age groups attended an identification camp at Taylor Tennis on January 18th. The purpose of the camp was to identify juniors who are able to adapt to the technical and physical challenges required to play tennis.

Regrouping these juniors on a monthly basis will give our young athletes an opportunity to train with different kids from around the city in a competitive environment. These regroupings will enhance the great work our coaches are presently doing in the city.

All of the kids were introduced to the progressive tennis balls and court sizes, which really allowed for longer rallies and an easier way to develop their technique.

In the near future Tennis Manitoba will be posting more information on the development and competitive pathway for our young tennis stars.
