Tennis Manitoba is Seeking Help with our 1st Serve
Most tennis players would love a little extra
power on their first serve. At Tennis Manitoba
we are looking for some assistance with a 1st
Serve of a different kind. Our magazine, 1st
Serve, was launched at the recent Awards Banquet
and will serve as an important communication
tool with pertinent information for the members
of the tennis community.
If you would be interested in writing or
researching articles for 1st Serve please
contact the Tennis Manitoba (click
here). Also, we are considering the option
of mailing the magazine directly to individual
members and would like to hear your feedback on
this idea.
To help cover the costs of
producing 1st Serve, we are looking for advertisers.
If you, or someone you know, would be interested
in promoting a product or service please let us
know.
Hard copies of the premier issue of 1st Serve
are available at the Tennis Manitoba office or
check out the issue online posted on the Tennis
Manitoba website (click
here).

Carter Nets Clean Sweep in Montreal
It was a
battle of no. 1 versus no. 2 in Sunday’s men’s
singles final of the Tennis Canada’s
International Wheelchair Tennis Championships,
an ITF 2 Series event on the NEC Wheelchair
Tennis Tour held at Uniprix Stadium.
In the end, it was top-seeded Canadian Lee
Carter (Winnipeg, Manitoba) who claimed top
honours thanks to a 6-2, 6-2 victory over
second-seeded American Paul Moran, ranked no 29.
With the win, Carter, ranked no. 21 in the
world, captured his fourth singles crown of the
year- the perfect way to cap a successful season
that also saw him represent his country at the
Paralympic Games in Beijing this summer.
