New Baseline System being Tested at Winter Club Junior Open

Winnipeg Winter Club makes history by having its junior open managed by the new online Tennis Manitoba Baseline System.

    Sat Jan 28'06
Winnipeg, MB (TM) – Tennis Manitoba is using the Winnipeg Winter Club Junior Open as a test of the new Baseline System, a real-time, interactive web-based system to manage rankings, players and tournament draws.

Tennis Canada, the governing body of tennis in Canada, has signed a letter of agreement to use the Baseline application to manage the operations of all of the provinces in Canada. Tennis Canada will use Baseline’s ranking system to provide Canadian tennis players with their first ever head-to-head national ranking starting in 2006.

Arby’s Serves up another Winner

Kids from the Rossbrook House enjoy Arby's Tennis Program wind-up.

    Wed Jan 25'06
Winnipeg, MB (TM) – Gifts for the children, plenty of smiling faces and a great lunch at Arby’s. That was the order of the day at the wind-up of the Arby’s Tennis Program, organized by Bill Serbin. After ten weeks of tennis lessons and hours of fun, the youngsters from the Rossbrook House enjoyed a delicious meal courtesy of Grant Tymchuk and his staff at the Arby’s on Regent. Grant topped it off with a gift for each child and tickets to the New Year’s Eve Moose Game at the MTS Center.

Tennis Manitoba would like to thank Leonard Asper for his generous support of this program and providing the children with a great opportunity to be exposed to tennis. The program was very successful and thoroughly enjoyed by all of the participants. Everyone is looking forward to next year.

I’m Thinking Arby’s!
