Tennis Canada Seeking Applicants for New Wheelchair Tennis Committee

Canada is pleased to announce the formation of a New Wheelchair
Tennis Committee. The committee is a restructuring of the former
Canadian Wheelchair Tennis Advisory Committee, and is being
formed to better meet the needs of wheelchair tennis development,
and to align with Tennis Canada’s Strategic Plan. The New
Wheelchair Tennis Committee (WTC) consists of a panel of experts
who act in an advisory and working capacity to further the growth
and development of the sport. The WTC is aligned directly with
the Core Business Areas of the Tennis Canada Strategic Plan, and
additional areas that are specific to wheelchair tennis...

Nine Manitobans Qualify for Junior Nationals

Winnipeg, MB (TM) – The Prairie
Circuit wrapped up on the weekend with the conclusion of the
Saskatchewan Indoor Junior Open in Saskatoon. Joanna Woo of
Winnipeg captured the U18 Girls Singles championship with a win
over Martyna Nowak of Regina. Alex Minuk of Winnipeg was
victorious in the U12 Boys Singles event, beating Christopher
Boys of Saskatoon and Daniella Silva won the U12 Girls Singles
title in a battle of Winnipeggers, after Evann Waschuk retired in
the first set. Every player that participated in the circuit
counts their best two results from the three tournaments and the
top 4 boys and 4 girls in the point standings in each age group
qualify to represent the Prairie Region at the Indoor Junior
Nationals in April. The following Manitobans have qualified to
represent our province:
